Autumn catalogue viewing
The lots on this site, plus a short run of British weeklies that did not make the public list. Tea in the kitchen. Numbers are limited so people can sit with a book.
Gallery, fairs, salons
East Layton is quiet on purpose. A few weekends a year we open the viewing room more widely, take a table at a UK mart, or sit original art on the nails for an evening. Write if you want the next date in your diary.

18:00–21:00
Boards on the viewing-room nails, raking light, and the artists’ notes laid beside them. A short talk at 19:00 on how we write a condition report for paper that has been through a studio.

5 December 2026
10:00–15:00
A quieter day for collectors already on the register. Remaindered lots from the year, a few objects that have been waiting for the right desk, and time to talk about next year’s want lists.
We take a small table to selected UK comic marts and independent fairs — the sort of rooms with a tea urn and a long history. Stock on the road is a travelling subset: readable VF copies, a handful of slabs, and a binder of original-art photographs.
Dates move. Email if you want to know whether we will be in York, Leeds, or London in a given month. We do not pretend to hold a stand at a convention we have not booked.
Private viewings at East Layton remain the main way to see the higher-value lots. Thursday to Saturday, 10:00 to 16:00, by appointment. The village is a few minutes from the A66 at Scotch Corner; the nearest railway is Darlington.
East Layton, Richmond DL11 7PW. Write before you set off so we can put the lights on and pull the right boxes.
